Product Description
Generic Zithromax treats different kinds of infections such as skin infections, respiratory infections, ear infections or sexually transmitted diseases. It can be prescribed for children.

Azithromycin belongs to a group of macrolide antibiotic. Azithromycin does not use for cold or viral infections.

Before taking the drug tell the doctor if you have pneumonia, kidney disease, stomach problems, liver disease, other chronic illness. Tell the doctor whether you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant.

Usage

Azithromycin is taken orally. Drink plenty of water. The tablets can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. Try to take it at the same period of time. Follow the doctor’s orders. Do not stop the treatment without consulting the doctor.

Turn to the doctor before giving the drug to the children. Medical care can be needed.

If you feel bad and you think you take too much drug, seek emergency immediately.

Do not give this drug to the other people.

In case you forget to take the dose, take it as you remember. But avoid it if it is time for the next one. 12 hours should be passed between the doses.

Interaction

Azithromycin interacts with triazolam, antacids, dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, terfenadine, warfarin, astemizole; digoxin, magnesium salts.

It is not a complete list. Tell the doctor about the other drugs, herbal products, dietary supplements which you are currently taking. Notify the doctor if you are a smoker, drink some alcohol or enjoy illegal drugs. Some products can interact with Azithromycin.

Side effects

Azithromycin may cause such side effects as dark yellow or brown urine, skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing; severe or watery diarrhea, vomiting, irregular heartbeat, yellowing of the eyes or skin. If you experience any of these symptoms, turn to the doctor immediately.

You may also have diarrhea, hearing loss, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, nausea, increased sensitivity to the sun, tiredness, vaginal irritation, itching or discharge.

The other side effects may also occur.

Precaution

If you do not feel better in 2-3 days, turn to the doctor. Call the doctor if there is some allergy (itching, swelling of the face, tongue or lips).

While taking azithromycin you may have high sensitivity to the sun. Protect yourself using sunglasses and sunscreen. It is not recommended to use sun lamps.

In case you have diarrhea, turn to the doctor.

Antacids may interact with azithromycin. If you want to take it, be sure that the interval is about 2 hours after you use azithromycin.

Before some surgery, let the doctor know that you take azithromycin.

Storage

Azithromycin is kept away from children.

Where can I keep my medicine?

Keep out of the reach of children in a container that small children cannot open. It should be stored at room temperature. It is recommended to keep the drug in its original container. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
